TORRANCE, Calif. – August 23, 2019 – AYSO United is pleased to announce Joshua Hunt has assumed the role of Director of Coaching for AYSO United Utah North.
Hunt has a strong background in youth sports and coaching development. He is actively involved with his local AYSO Region as the Coaches’ Trainer and has over three years of coaching experience with AYSO United Utah North. Hunt, a former Samoa Youth National Team Player, competed on the International stage as a member of Samoa’s Under-17 outfit that represented his country at an Oceania Football Confederation tournament. At the adult level, he won back-to-back Championship titles in the Men’s Senior A Western Division of the Samoa Football Federation league with the Vaitoloa Vikings.
“We are pleased to add Joshua Hunt to our Director of Coaching team,” said David Thomas, AYSO United National Director. “Joshua’s impressive background in high-level youth sports will certainly have a great impact on AYSO United and AYSO Core programs, players and coaches in the Utah North area.”
Additionally, Hunt is an experienced rugby coach and player, having played for the Seasiders Rugby club during his time at Brigham Young University of Hawaii, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems. Hunt also remains active in both soccer and rugby, competing regularly in adult men’s leagues.
“It has been an amazing learning experience for me so far and I am incredibly honored of this opportunity,” said Hunt, Director of Coaching, AYSO United Utah North. “I am looking forward to bringing my experience to help our AYSO United coaches and players, as well as working alongside our incredible local Club and National leadership.”
