TORRANCE, CA. (February 2019) — The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) is thrilled to announce its nationwide club, AYSO United, will be expanding to Arizona. The new Arizona program joins New Mexico and Fredericksburg, as the third AYSO United location in Section 12, serving the Greater Phoenix Area, Flagstaff and Tucson.
“We are excited about supporting our AYSO players in Arizona through our AYSO United program. Arizona has a rich tradition in developing players to the highest standards and AYSO United will ensure that our players have the opportunity to continue their AYSO experience within the AYSO United environment,” said Dave Thomas, AYSO United National Director.
AYSO United is grateful to build upon the foundation set by the current Challenge FC club program, to continue to provide advanced playing opportunities for AYSO players and create a world-class player development pathway. AYSO United is built on the organization’s Six Philosophies, flipping the soccer building blocks by prioritizing player development, which is designed to meet the technical, tactical and psycho-social needs of its players.
“I am extremely delighted to be part of the team that is bringing AYSO United to the State of Arizona. Nationally, we have seen the impact of AYSO United and I am confident this program will have a tremendous impact on the AYSO players here in the Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff areas,” said Tom Simmons, AYSO Section 12 Director.
AYSO United is currently in the initial stages of hiring a full time Director of Coaching that will oversee the Club. The Director of Coaching will work with volunteer leadership and club staff to ensure the best club experience is provided for players, families and coaches.
Tryouts for AYSO United’s Arizona location will begin this spring. For more information on the program, please contact Dave Thomas at DavidThomas@aysounited.org.
