AYSO To Upgrade Paperless Registration Services
AYSO has taken a major step to reduce the work-load of Regional Registrars and CVPAs, eliminate storage of registration forms, and save volunteer time.
Beginning this summer, the per-form cost of eSign is being cut by 75 percent to $0.25 each. And all
eSign volunteer forms are free!
eSign is the electronic signature option inside eAYSO. It allows parents and guardians to legally sign their player and volunteer forms online. It is part of the eAYSO check-out process. Some of the benefits of eSign are:
- Saves volunteer time
- Eliminates storage of player or volunteer forms
- Reduces risk of identity theft from handwritten/pre-printed forms
- Increased accuracy of all information
- Eliminates the need to send copies of volunteer forms to the National Office
- Enables more timely completion of Safe Haven clearance of volunteers
- Saves trees!
Nearly 50 percent of AYSO Regions no longer use paper forms. For those members with limited access to a computer, Regions are finding lots of places (such as libraries, school computer labs, fast food restaurants, pizza places and coffee shops) that offer free or low cost computer use and/or wireless internet and are excited to host your Registration event. With a couple of loaner laptops, parents can register with eSign on the spot.
Even with eSign, Regions can continue to hold in-person registration events, with parents signing up at their convenience on eAYSO, printing the player or volunteer form, and bringing the completed paperwork to their registration site.
Alternatively many Regions are now offering only online registration with eSign and payment by credit card. Forms are simply mailed to the Region. They may hold a mandatory parent orientation meeting or other activity to introduce parents to the AYSO season and recruit parent volunteers.
Pre-printed 4-part paper player registration forms and 3-part volunteer application forms for MY2012 will continue to be available to Regions for free for use during registration later this spring. However, due to increased costs, beginning with forms ordered after August 1, 2012, there will be an escalating fee for paper forms.
Beginning August 1, 2012 the cost for forms ordered as part of a MY2012 or MY2013 Registration Kit will be:
Pre-printed player forms $.22 ea
Pre-Printed volunteer forms $.14ea
Blank player forms $.05ea
Blank volunteer forms $.05 ea.
Additional forms ordered after receipt of the Registration Kit will be charged at the price published in the AYSO Supply Center Catalog.
The price of forms ordered will continue to be adjusted to account for any increase in production costs on the following schedule:
- August 1, 2013 for MY2013 or MY2014
- August 1, 2014 for MY2014 or MY2015
